Protea Flowers
A Protea bush gives more flowers year after year and is really productive between its third and eighth year. Our yearly harvest is estimated to be 2.000.000 flowers, which have to be hand-picked one by one. From the field the flowers move to the warehouse were we have adapted machinery for stripping-off leaves, for size-cutting, for bundling and for packing.
The quality of our flowers is excellent and the flowers can be held for a long time because we can make fast deliveries to the main consuming market. All transport is by refrigerated trucks, some flowers are even transported in buckets with water. Once again, these are big advantages compared with our southern competitors, who have to deliver everything by air cargo or containers.
